Format and timing

Part 1 — The essay (compulsory)

You are given a topic, a question to discuss, two prompts (notes), and you must add a third idea of your own.

• Always answer the question fully — do not drift off topic
• Use both given prompts and add your own third idea
• Use formal register — no contractions, no slang
• Use linking words: however, furthermore, moreover, on the other hand
• Plan before writing: introduction, two arguments, conclusion
