What does Part 7 test?

You see 10 statements/questions and 4–6 short texts. Match each statement to the text it relates to. Some texts will be used more than once. This tests scanning — finding specific information quickly.

Strategy

Read the 10 statements FIRST — underline key words
Skim each text quickly to get the topic
For each statement, scan the texts looking for the SPECIFIC information
Watch for paraphrases — a statement says praised for size and the text says remarkably big and won an award for its dimensions
Answer the easy ones first; come back to the hard ones
Some texts are used more than once — do not assume each text matches twice

Trusting word repetition

A text that mentions expensive is not necessarily the answer for describes a high price — check for context.

Skipping the underlining

The key words in each statement guide your scan. Mark them.
