Six questions. Use BETWEEN 3 AND 8 words INCLUDING the key word (which cannot be changed). Tests advanced grammar transformations.
Strategy
- The two sentences must mean EXACTLY the same
- Common at CPE: inverted conditionals (Had I known...), cleft sentences, advanced reporting verbs
- Watch idiomatic structures: "no sooner... than", "as if...", "wish + past perfect"
- 2 points per question — extra valuable
- Count words carefully; contractions = 2 words
